What is Kigen? A quiet app for family life.
Kigen is a family-first organization app that gathers the small pieces of information your household runs on — lists, receipts, household tasks — into one calm place that everyone in the family can open.
Why we built Kigen
Households are powered by tiny pieces of information. "Where did we file that warranty?" "Did we already buy that?" "When is the next medical check-up?"
Those scraps end up scattered across notes apps, photo folders, and paper piles. Kigen started with one idea: gather them in one place that anyone in the family can open.
Four pillars
Kigen is built around four features that intentionally flow into each other rather than feeling like separate tools.
- Shared Lists — shopping, tasks, and small reminders synced in real time
- OCR Scanning — snap a receipt or warranty and Kigen files the details
- Family Spaces — a private shared area only your family can see
- Smart Reminders — quiet pings, only when they actually help
Who Kigen is for
Kigen is not for families that want to "manage everything." It is for families who would rather not use an app at all — but also do not want to forget things.
Couples, busy parents, people supporting aging relatives. The shape of a family changes, but the amount of small information needed to keep one running does not.
How we treat your data
Kigen holds very personal household information, so we built it without tracking or ad-driven design. OCR and parsing run on-device whenever possible, and only the minimum data needed for family sharing is kept on our servers.
